Outbuildings - Corn Crib

Introduction

Ice House

Granary

Corn Crib

Wagon Shed

Equipment Shed

Chicken House

Outhouse

Pump House

Hog Shed

Designed to hold one year's supply of corn, the building kept moisture out while allowing air to pass hrough and dry the corn.  The crib probably stood alongside the Wagon House a century ago, but was moved to its current location when the equipment shed was built.

The photo shows the corncrib and how it is attached to the equipment shed.  The slanted sides of the crib help protect from moisture and the raised floor helps protect from rodents.
